Love Is In The Air

At this point, I was terrified looking at this fabric. I was scared to cut it and afraid to attempt sewing with sequin fabric. I had heard terrible things about sewing with sequin fabrics. I needed a red or white long dress for a Ball that I was to attend the weekend before Valentine's Day. I think white evening gowns are too bridal and I really don't wear the color red very often. I prayed over the fabric first since it was $29 a yard. I did however use my Joann's 50 per cent off coupon.

I then checked my pattern stash that I've somehow amassed over the years. I settled on McCall's 7047. I made the long skirt with train, cowl neck bodice.

Of course, I eliminated the train and opted not to attached the bodice. The back was extremely low-cut after I made it. I remembered a top that I had previously purchased and went for it. I had extra fabric left so a made a pencil skirt to wear to church the next day. I used the side selvage border as the hem for the pencil skirt. Easy Peasy. I cant believe it - two garments in one day. I was very proud of myself and the sequin fabric sewed like a dream.

This is my cousin and one of my Sunday School students.
